In a report to the Tal laganda Shire Council meeting the engineer outlined moving W. Cook with the horse grader to repair work for two to three days, then disbanding the unit and absorbing Cook and Crandell into the bridge crew. The president said the aim was to reduce horse teams and use men where more needed, keeping B Riding roads from suffering and acknowledging Cook’s winter shift was his idea.
