Presbyterian minister postpones sermon in Queanbeyan
The Rev. A. J. Carter of Queanbeyan, moderator of the Presbyterian Church in the state, was announced to preach in Braidwood on Sunday next but his visit has been postponed. As a result the usual services will be held at Araluen on Sunday next.

Municipal baths opened by Mayor Coffey in local ceremony
The baths were officially opened by Mayor P. Coffey on a Saturday afternoon with townspeople present. He said the facility meets a long felt need and, though basic, could be improved as funds allow with citizen support. The site is good and when the dam fills there will be ample swimming space. Only a few swimmers tested the baths, though they represent the best local talent.

Presbyterian pastor Mr. R. P. Steele returned to Braidwood Friday after a 900 mile motorcycle tour covering Bungendore Queanbeyan Yass Bowning Grenfell Forbes Parkes Trundle Condobolin. He reported splendid crops and abundant pastures with oat crops seven feet high in Burrowa Young and Grenfell districts. He was also successful in a land ballot in the Trundle district for a Homestead.

Band to entertain on Boxing Day at Bateman's Bay
The Moruya Examiner notes the Braidwood Brass Band regarded as among the best outside the metropolis will perform from Saturday evening to Tuesday morning as guests of Bay View Hotel host Bill. They will play at Bateman's Bay Saturday night and Nelligen Sunday afternoon with collections. J Egan of Bolaroo has pledged £1, Mr Bull, Band president, has given £2 10s for travel, and the 12 member band offers its services gratis.

Lamb auction raises funds for recruits vest project
A lamb donated by Lieutenant Stanley Abel's children was auctioned by A W Scott to aid the Braidwood District Recruiting Association. The sale raised £8 4s 6d for sheepskin vests for local recruits, with Scott buying back the animal for £1 12s and rescinding ownership to honor the donors.
