Mr Lee Refutes Unemployed Relief Demands
A deputation from the Political Labor League and City Labour Council, with Parliament members, urged iron works, rails, homesteads, village settlements, and city rebuilding. Mr. Lee rejected all proposals as impractical and fiscally ruinous, noting England’s tax options and Argentina’s paper money pitfalls as warnings. He cites Sir William Lyne’s legacy complicating resumptions and questions the feasibility of public works schemes.
