Salt Harvest to Start Mid October to Fill Ponds

Dancing Notes at Miss Séilars Dancing Class

Demonstrations of the Park Parade Tango Waltz and Colleen Waltz will be given at Miss Séilars Dancing Class on Monday. The Colleen and Tango Waltzes revive old time dances, unlike the New Vogue Olaseita. The dances were popular before the Jazz era and are distinct from other Old Time dances. Colleen Waltz will be added next week with movements taught separately. Soft drinks available at the hall tonight.

At the Inet meeting of the Pineapple Sectional Group a suggestion by Mr. J. B. Reeve proposed using blemished pineapples to manufacture elder wine. The group noted pineapple cocktails were set in the southery blazen leafy. Enquiries were to be made.

Gaming charge in Police Court over horse race betting book

In Police Court this morning under the Vagrants Gaming and other Offences Act 1031 Toseon McCoun was charged by P M Dwyer with possessing without lawful excuse betting records at Deacon's Newaagenicy. A book with bets on Southern race meetings and three sheets of horse names and odds were found. Defendant failed to appear and forfeited a £10 bail.

Bowen Chamber Secures Bowen as Optional Stop on Air Service

The Bowen Chamber of Commerce secured approval from the Director General of Civil Aviation to add Bowen as an optional stop on the Sydney Rabaul air route for landing or pickup. The move follows local advocacy to maintain air service, despite possible schedule gaps. The AOA daily service for passenger and mail via Stinson is expected to resume this week.

Port Denison Sailing Club Opens 1933 40 Season

The Port Denison Sailing Club opened its 1933 40 sailing season on Sunday with a fresh masterly breeze. Two handicap races were held with results: Morning race Ondleg first Phantom second Destiny third. Afternoon race Destiny first Gee Whin second Phantom third. One junior race was conducted with Firefly defeating Rover. A full report will appear in our next issue.
