Telegraphic news from Brisbane reports Judge Macneughlin finalised wage terms for waterside workers. He proposed a provisional hourly basic wage based on an estimated 89 hours, with regional rate variations and overtime rules. Wages and travel changes take effect May 1, with other provisions on June 15.
Brisbane report states Thomas O'Brien a 74 year old police pensioner was struck and killed crossing the railway line at Ravenswood Junction. Oswald Watt of the Flying Gorps was drowned near Newport after being caught in a current.
