Provisional liquor licenses arguments before Bowen court
On July 1 the Bowen Court heard applications for provisional certificates for licensed victuallers at Collinsville, Scottville, and Mt Castor. The PM adjourned leave of absence requests and granted transfer of the Homestead Hotel license. Extensive debate covered jurisdiction under the new Liquor Act, priority of applications, and the legality of provisional certificates prior to or after local option polls.
