Bowen Chamber of Commerce Monthly Meeting Notes
The Bowen Chamber of Commerce met on Thursday with apologies from several members. Discussions covered the arrival of a shipping team, a proposed whistle timing at the jetty, and coordinating with shipping authorities. Kent and Wright spoke on railway siding needs for the Upper Don, sugar cane logistics, and a potential loop for ballast siding. The Farmers Association to estimate tonnage and contributor list was requested, with approval of the plan. Accounts of £11 18s 3d were approved for payment and inquiry into the stone deposit at the Commonwealth Mine, Happy Valley, was noted.
