They argue Rockton’s isolation and trade depend on connecting to Bombula, with road links to the Victorian system and the Prince's Highway improving regional access and rates.
Approval granted for a £50 grant with modified residential qualification to soldiers who lived with dependents in Australia for twelve months before World War I and rejoined them after discharge. Dependents need not have remained in Australia. The final filing deadline for eligible applicants is October 31.
The Methodists of Bombala plan an annual Fair in February to raise funds targeting £150. The second gift evening in the series is scheduled for Monday November 7th.

The Winelombe Carson Limited wool sale drew brisk competition among Yorkshire, French, Australian, and German mills. Compared with September, merino wools rose 13 to 20, medium fleece 10 to 15, all skirtings up 10 percent, crossbred 10 to 15, and medium increases noted.
A missing gold ring set with a sapphire? or stones and pearls was reported. A reward from Windex was offered for its return.

Miss Dorothy Clare Nairn daughter of the late Sir Michael Nairn Bart and Lady Nairn of Rankeillour Scotland wed Mr Bruce B Thomas son of the late Mr John H Thomas of Ribbenlake New South Wales Australia. The ceremony at Rankeillour House was by Rev W D Beattie. The couple will reside at Rumpally and honeymoon in the South of England. Guests included Major R S Nairn groomsman and Lady Nairn in a black and white gown. A reception followed the ceremony with the bride wearing moire gown and Limerick lace veil. A list of wedding presents is noted.
