Boy badly hurt in pony accident at Combany

R A Walker's seven year old son fell from a pony after the animal pulled while getting on. He was dragged about seventy yards, injuring his head. taken to Bombala Hospital Saturday and is recovering. The district TB bazaar and ball raised £187 12s. best sport was won by W Glenn. waltzing pair Miss Try Epple and Mr Harold Epple ston. Delegate cricket watch ended in a draw with 174 for 4 declared.

The matron Sister Cox resigns from Bombala Hospital and will leave at month end. The committee will present her with a token of appreciation for her service and invites donations via secretary Mr J Turnbull or treasurer Mr H Swith.

The Bombala branch of the Red Cross Society held its quarterly meeting with strong attendance. Mrs G. Hi Garnock presided. plans included a linen tea on October 29th at Hospital grounds to raise funds for the hospital. The treasury showed a credit balance of £17 16s 0d. A separate Tea Depot will operate for three more months. The secretary to send pjamas and coats to Headquarters and to check needs of dependents through the VA Aftercare.

Captain William Millard long allied with state politics on the NSW Legislative Assembly dies at his Bondi home aged 77. He represented Moruya Clyde and Beza across four parliaments and Beza, was active in land and dairy matters, served in the military, and leaves five daughters and a son. He stood for Goulburn as Nationalist at the last election.

Bombala Race Club held its spring meeting on a fine Thursday with modest attendance but solid gate revenue. W. O'Brien (Bemboka) was the stipendiary steward and oversaw a program that featured the Open Handicap and Race Club Handicap with Blazing Phasb prevailing in the Opening Handicap and Phase Bill winning the Club Handicap after a tight finish. A rider collision occurred near the turn and caused bruising but no blame was found on others. improvements for patrons and participants were noted.
