Pastures Protection Board Moves on Fence and Dingo District
The Pastures Protection Board met on Tuesday with R. C. Jennings re-elected chairman for twelve months. Discussion covered a boundary fence on reserve No. 133 near Jettita, cost share requests from H C Peadon, and Department views. The Board opposed contributing to the fence upkeep, noting it existed for over twenty years. It addressed permanent control of reserves, Dingo Destruction District formation, and proposed local meetings to nominate directors. Also debated sale of Delegate Station water reserve No. 327, grazing rights on Kirkapong and Steeple Mat reserves, travel regulations breach at Cathcart, disease trends in stock, worm control, and general stock health.

Rain Insurance Proposal For Agricultural Shows
At a South Coast and Tablelands Agricultural Societies Union meeting Mr H Rauch of Nowra proposed a cooperative rain insurance scheme. Societies would pay into a fund and receive compensation based on gate money loss when rain spoils shows. Wollongong paid £28 but got nothing due to unmet minimum rainfall. Derald spent £60 over five years with no benefit. The suggestion was to adopt the cooperative plan.

Universal tally system improves NSW sheep shearing efficiency
At Booroomugga Station near Cobar, Graziers Association members trial a universal tally system to pace shearers. Managed by a tally man with a clock, the method aims for about 100 sheep per day per good shearer, reducing second cuts by an estimated 73 percent and boosting overall wool value while avoiding animal cruelty and yard congestion. The system, praised by J W Allen and Robert Wilson, faces questions on speed and cost but has shown ten shearers averaging 100 sheep daily over an eight hour shift.

Lost Children In Japan Labeled For Homeward Return
In Japan parents regularly label children with their addresses so that if a child strays any passerby can return them to their home. The practice reflects a cultural emphasis on guiding young travelers back to family and safety.
