Between Dec 11 and Feb 20, 177 cars carried 850 people to the Bega River camping site. Show fruit will be scarce due to frosts and drought. Fels Optician Fels Wey Optician Whitehead Opticians and Optometrists plan personal visits to Welagate Delegates Hotel on Monday March 13 at 1 pm. A Tuesday March 14 visit to the Imperial Hotel to run from 3 pm to 6 pm with a Wednesday March 17 session from 5 pm to midnight.

A collision on the Qooma Nimmitabel road left a Chevrolet driven by J A Guthrie and a horse ridden by J H Hedges. the horse died, Guthrie and Hodges escaped serious injury. The Girl Guides host a grand carnival and Pat Display at Bombala show ground on Saturday March 13 beginning early. Copies of the programme will be at Mr M H Stewarts office Monday for full details and prizes. Events include bicycle riders, boys and girls teams, pony events, dogs, paddy lambs, cats, fowls, lids and dolls. Luncheon and afternoon tea on site, with a euchre party and dance at night in the School of Arts.
A black meeting was held at the sports ground on Sunday. The half mile race was won by N White with G Savage second and Pauline third. Ribbenlake riders swept the mile placings with W Smith first F Cotterill second and C Robinson second. The meeting ended with two 2 mile scratch races. A grade was won by K Stewart and B grade by W Smith. Orbost Carnival marks list J Yelds N White C Kimber and KX Stewart will represent the club.
A ten year old girl Lily Grant died at Pambula Hospital after her clothes caught fire at Wynsham while lighting a fire. Her mother quickly wrapped her in a blanket and treated her with olive oil and vaseline before rushing to hospital where she passed away. It is believed the pinny touched an open fire.
