Candela resident Jim DeGosta reports the death of his brother Harry DeCosta aged 65 in Toronto on January 20. Cremation occurred January 27 at Beresfield Crematorium. Survived by widow and five daughters. son Jim in West Wyalong. Brothers include George DeCosta. funeral arranged by Bombala native Thomas Moore.

Roads to the Show Ground will be good to indifferent on March 3 and 4. The committee will provide extra entrance and exit for cars and increased seating around the ring. Horses remain the main feature with expectations of surpassing last year’s record. Four grass prizes of £1 each will be awarded for best swards suitable for Monaro. The winner will join the South Coast and Tablelands exhibit at the BA Show. The committee aims to make the show the social event of the year.

Helen Shaw married Percy Alan Kelman in a ceremony at St Johns Darlinghurst. The bride wore an ivory satin gown with seed pearls, her mother’s gown, and grandmother’s Brussels lace and pearls. Guests came from Mores, Hay, Bombala and nearby towns. honeymooned in Maoriland.
