Council Debates Maintenance of Approaches and Gravel Payment

Rest Room and Baby Health Centre Annual Meeting

The annual meeting held in the Rest Room on the 1st attended by 30 members with Mrs Keys presiding. Reports showed a year of effort and a Treasurer's statement a credit balance of £32 9 5. Retiring officers Mrs Keys Mrs Berry and Mrs Mawson were re elected along with other vice presidents. Mrs Black was re elected secretary. A vote of thanks was given to office bearers for a successful year.

Perkins Profile Shows Long Career in Tariffs and Politics

Mel bourne Sun writer highlights John Arthur Perkins a longtime Australian politician. He served as Minister for Customs after a fast tariff schedule posting and previously held roles as assistant customs minister. Born in Tumut he entered NSW Parliament in 1921 and the federal House in 1926 representing Eden Monaro.

Rest Room attendant Elliott to serve another year

The committee agreed to extend Mrs. Elliott's duties as attendant at the Rest Room for 12 more months. A Blue and Gold Ball was set for Friday February 10 with trophies worth £2 10s for novelty dances and a mystery lady competition. A meeting for final arrangements will be held the first Thursday in February at the Rest Room. Rice and Mrs. Groves visited hospital in November. A £10 donation to the hospital was decided. Group representatives appointed were Mrs. Keys and Mrs. Cotterill.
