Evensong and evangelistic services announced for Bombala and nearby towns with times at Methodist and Anglican churches. Local accidents, transport updates, and community notices include a grazier's death, riverina firm liquidation, road inspection cracks, railway motor service talks, snow on town, and upcoming eye clinic visits by Opticians.
Thieves forced iron sheets from a partition between the garage and main building at Messrs W. Green and Co wool and skin dealers in Crawford Street Queanbeyan and escaped with 249 pounds of rabbit skins valued at £72. The store was locked up at night and theft discovered next morning. Police investigation underway. There is a ballot for the Bombala Exhibition Society committee with twenty candidates including Stevenson Dawson Pierce McKellar Smith Garnock and Platts among others. Farmers and Graziers Co sells and brokers wool and stock with large advance financing available through local agent B Ruxton. J J Crimmings expands Bombala to Bega motor service from twice weekly to thrice weekly now licensed for passengers. Service may extend to postal mail later.
Obituary notices report Andrew Brown of Eden district died in Bom bala Hospital after heart failure aged 74 and interred at Presbyterian cemetery with Rev A J Barrett officiating. He was born in Eden, a former blacksmith and miner, survived by wife two daughters and two sons. Also announced is the death of H Braanstuyver at 75 after chest pain near Wyndham, burial at Wyndham Church of England cemetery with large district attendance. survivor details include a widow two daughters and one son. Alfred Devil Robinson, 34, son of Harry Robinson, died after a long melee near Graigte.
Cooma show panel expands from twenty four to twenty nine members. Mr Percy Reed of Nimmitsbel sails to Fiji. Ando Public Hell opens with a ball next Friday night.
The July 24 meeting elected a Council to aid the Junior Farmers' Club with President F J Smith and Treasurer H D Evans among members. Resolutions set quorum rules and urged the Education Department to fund a netting fence at the school cultivation area. A July 3 meeting pledged donations nearing £4 and a show section for Junior Farmers' exhibits with a grass prize of ten shillings for Monaro.
Local paper man and the Mayor feud over free printing for the P A Society with the printer taking the job. Bombala prepares for the annual Catholic Ball at the Show Pavilion on August 18 with the orchestra under engagement and a promised superior supper and entertainment.
