The first team has challenged Delegate for the Gold Cup and will play next Sunday. A reserves team will face Delegate for the Reserve Challenge Cup on Saturday at the local ground. The Canaries played Delegate teams twice on Sunday, winning 7–1 in the second game. Funds are low, with a ball planned on August 18 to boost finances. The annual School for Arts meeting elected officers: President C Jennings, Vice Presidents FP Allen and W Thomas, Treasurer S Stewart, Secretary D Wilson, Committee members A Helmers, O McNee, S Clarke, S Michie, A Oliver, J R Lowe. Some adults suffered from wumpa bouts. W Allen and W Thomas have since improved.

The council met Wednesday with Aldermen Warne Gee Leslaighter Wilton Plowright Head Gillan Helmers and Jonas present. The mayor reported a general fund credit of 3/2 and sanitary fund credit of 118 1/2 after payments and relief expenses funded from the trust and general funds. Ald Gillan joined after the death of Ald Bryan. Requests included a cutting cart engine permit, a 5 foot paling fence on Forbes Street, footpath repairs in Maybe Street and fronting residences, and repairs to a church footpath. Sanitary inspectors will check premises for separate lavatory compliance and enforce installation where needed.
