Poppy Day in Bridgetown will see women of the B.8.L. auxiliary selling poppies on main street tomorrow and at the Bridgetown Show on Wednesday. The E.8.L. sub-branch also approved a Christmas tree party for children and formed a three member committee to arrange it.

Refrigeration Trial For Milk Supplies In Bunbury

A new commercial refrigeration unit was trialed in Bunbury on Tuesday. If successful it may be installed at farms in the Margaret River area with South West Dairy Farmers Ltd bulk milk collection. The unit aims to chill milk to about 40 degrees, improving quality and ensuring top payments at the depot.

Metropolitan boxers visit Bridgetown for regional bouts

East Perth Police Boys' Club will travel about 30 members to Bridgetown on November 21 to stage numerous boxing bouts at the Bridge town Town Hall. Under superintendent Alec Smith, the group will be billeted locally and include several champions from the club. Local boys will box the visitors, with a bus trip planned and tickets to go on sale soon. There is a £14,250 prize pool advertised for the event and related charity draw.

Towns defeat Railways in Bridgetown match by thirty runs

Towns secured their season first win at Bridgetown defeating Railways by 30 runs. Key figures include Glen Morgan with 49 and Norm Dawson 36 as opening batsmen.
