Country Women's Big Night Debutantes Night in Bridgetown

Country Women's Association Bridgetown hosts a debutantes event next Monday at Bridgetown Town Hall. His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor Sir James Mitchell will attend as Twenty five debutantes are presented including Heather Urquhart and Flora McDonald. Doors open 7:30 p.m. and proceedings begin 8:30 p.m. Tickets available from GWA committee or Blackwood Times Office.

Bishop of Bunbury to Visit Bridgetown on Sunday

The Bishop of Bunbury Hey Lasie Knigit will visit Bridgetown on Sunday for a parish service at 8 am with confirmation and communion. He arrives at Uw Earlain for the family gathering and will be the presiding officer at the veering service. In the afternoon he will attend MayRoup and address the congregation. The bishop will be available to talk between services, with a gathering at Evelyn Hower near Dulgaridy Park.

Inter School Sports At Bridgeown Delights Young Players

Delightful weather aided hockey and football at Bridgeown on Friday. Two school teams, Bridgetown and Jardee, fielded promising youngsters in a close hockey match ending Bridgetown four Jardee three. Scorers included Margaret Willing and Moreen Waters for Bridgetown, and Jean Walker and Jetty Johnson for Jardee. In football Convent beat State School five to four with John Watson scoring four and P Moulton one for Convent.
