Mr P D Forrest resigns after many years of service on the Upper Blackwood Road Board citing health and cost concerns. Fellow members praise his leadership from 1935 onward and thank him for initiating projects and district improvements while wishing his successor a strong start.

Mr J R Purse was elected chair man of the Upper Blackwood Road Board at the first meeting of the new board. He has served about 15 years with the board and has twice acted as chair man, pledging a vigorous outlook for district land development. Mr W Invlias became vice chair man with Farrall Cumming and Caporn as finance and works committee members.
Bridgetown Road Board confirms the town hall is booked for the Badminton Club on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for 30 shillings per night. Club representatives seek long term certainty, fearing loss if higher offers arise, but officials state the club holds sole rights at the reduced fee and will discuss the motion at the next meeting.
Bridgetown Druids Lodge organise a dance on Friday June 11 to raise funds for the Infant Health Clinic. The effort follows a similar previous fundraiser that supported St John Ambulance and raised £26.
