Balingup Golf Club Opens With Stableford Event

Balingup Golf Club opened its weekend invitational with a Stableford format match. The altered scoring method produced varied scores, with J Porvin and G H S Hester posting 88s and several players counting 38, 30, and 25 as notable scores among the field.

Yornup Ladies Appeal at Friendly Circle Event

The ladies of Yornup held a function to support Food for Britain. The Peapouse gathering was small but generous, handing £3 to Ted Crown. A pleasant meeting at Mrs Elliott's home collected contributions. A prize donated by Mr Alinden, via his mother, was won by Mrs Entwistle.

The annual meeting of the CWA was held at Fort Rest Reunue Pecestry with fair attendance despite a lack of ticketing. President and secretary resigned. Mrs Kerr serves as treasurer for 74 years, with officers Mrs W Graham as president and W J Taerum as secretary. The group discusses musical items and a April event at the Greenbushes choir, featuring Mrs Vara and Mrs Willlame in performances.

Herd Recording Iteas Announces May Start for Dairy Herd Tests

Agricultural Officer Mr. Simes informs Bridgetown of the second year testing scheme beginning May 1. Units are in Bred Batingop. Many farmers expressed intent to enroll in the herd improvement program, but few have submitted applications. Applications and details are available from Mr. Simes. the farmer’s cost is 4/8 per cow for testing through the fall lactation period.

Bridgetown Magistrate Mr L W Statter presided as PE Ewing defended two plaintiffs in separate matters. Victor Ranorway charged with unlawful mischief near Ralingup on March 20 faced defense costs and £8 in default, while I W Treen of Boyupy Brook sought relief from Richard Platell near Moran Brash with threats of bodily harm. The magistrate ordered Platell to post a £20 bond for six months and to pay £8 18s in costs after hearing the case.

Visit of Children Cancelled by South Perth School
