An Agricultural Department representative estimates butterfat production in the Bridgetown Boyup Brook Yarnup Hester Winnijup Balingup and Greenbushes districts for May 1948 to April 1949 totaled about 850000 to 900000 lb. Elderly Man Found Dead in Bush Near Nannup

Mr Archibald Groves a 78 year old resident was found dead in the bush a quarter mile from his Nannup home on Saturday afternoon. Schoolboys George Guthridge and Les Kearney discovered the body about 3 pm and Dr Cole estimated death occurred around 5 pm the previous day from heart failure. Groves had lived alone since his wife died five years ago and appeared in good health despite advancing age.
