Postwar Bridgetown land sale realises high values
The first postwar subdivision auction in Bridgetown was held at the Freemasons Hotel. Mort and Co. sold three lots and private sales followed, with buyers including W L Owen J V and B M Allanson-Winn L Fallon and F J Lee Steere for parcels ranging from 0.5 to 144 acres at favorable prices.

Farmers Union Sets Member Eligibility at Perth Conference
At the Perth constitutional conference last week the Farmers Union approved amendments establishing eligibility for membership to those over 18 engaged in farming or retired farmers meeting criteria. Exclusions include allied bodies with anti democratic aims or sympathy with such aims, with appeals to the general executive for branch refusals. The general executive may expel members deemed to violate provisions.
