YORNUP MILL FRACAS Two Charges Of Assault
Tadurz Sjol a timber worker at the Yornup mill was convicted on two charges of unlawful assault in the Bridge town Police Court. He was sentenced to three months with hard labour on each charge, cumulative. Witnesses described a camp confrontation and a later knife threat. Sjol admitted the charges via interpreter. a second assault on mill worker Robert Gook nearly injured him, the knife blade snapping on impact. The magistrate warned against knife use and noted Sjol’s earlier assault conviction.
