State Government approved a proposal for an agricultural research station in the Cowaramup area near the Blackwood district. McLarty announced the decision, backed by M L A Bovell, with plans to use the Wokalup State Farm for additional research on light lands. The move follows long advocacy by Farmers’ Unions and a Bridge Town meeting urging Perth action.
