Bridgetown District Scout Commissioner Appointed
The Rev A L Meyer of the Methodist Church Bridgetown is appointed District Scout Commissioner per Warren and Nelson. Joe J T Fullerton resigned earlier. The appointment was read at the Bridgetown 111th Scout Troop committee on April 20. A circular on Whistle Pipe gully as a potential camping ground near Kalumunda was discussed. The local committee favors seaside camps for country scouts, but HQ will be told the camp is unnecessary. About £1000 needed to develop the gully into a camp, £64 11 1 already raised, and a £5 6 donation will be sent. Although no official delegates were named for the Perth May 21 Boy Scouts Convention, several committee members plan to attend with Scouter support.

Man Hurt Avoiding Bulldozer Near Donnelly Mill
Phillip McNab of Viel Donnelly Mill near Manjimup slipped while moving from an advancing bulldozer. A falling tree struck his back and he fractured his ankle. He was taken to Bridgetown Hospital by car and discharged on Monday.

Anzac Day Bridgetown Parade Draws Large Turnout
Dawn Service at Bridgetown Memorial drew about thirty attendees with a 5.30 am arrival. A 2.30 pm parade from the RSL Hall to Town Hall featured returned servicemen, C.M.F., scouts, girl guides, and 47 marchers in memory of fallen comrades. Wreaths were laid at the War Memorial and crowds honored veterans of both world wars.

Anzac Day Service in Boyup Brook Town Hall
A large crowd gathered at Boyup Brook Town Hall for Anzac Day. Ex-service members led by Wing Commander A R Brown escorted from the post office to the hall. The guard of honour formed outside by local girl guides and brownies. Mr B O Ryan conducted the service, with a stirring address by Mr T Nadebaum, head of the local State school.
