In this lengthy letter to the editor the author defends provincial rights against Dominion policy, argues Manitoba's lands should stay under local control, and criticizes government handling of the Red River rebellion. He cites railways, the Hudson Bay Company, and figures like McKenzie Blake and Wolseley while debating the North West settlement and future prosperity.
