Hope High School. . .Jack attended FayettevilleHigh School from IMS • 1M7 where he was a top athlete in basketball and was an outstanding all * around ball player. He participated In football, track, and basketball. In 1M6-47 he made the All • State basketball team. In 1948 Jack enrolled in Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he made All • Virginia inBasketball. In 1950 he went toWest Virginia University where he was active In track, and basketball (co • captain in 1950-51) received his bachelor’s degree in 1951. Jack returned to West Virginia University in the fall of 1951 to work on his masters degree. He toured with the West Virginia University StarsIn 1952.In 1952 he received his first coaching job, which was at Fayetteville Junior High. He transferred to Montgomery Junior High in 1953-55. In 1955 heJACK SHOCKEY♦ WWWwas appointed head basketball coach at Meadow. Bridge High School. Jack's coaching record is 48 wins and 21 losses.Jack married Doris Paris of ( unard, Sept. 2, 1950. They havethree children, Bonnie Jean 7 years old. Jacqueline Ann 2 1-2 and David Paris 3 1-2 months.
