I'when tlvz thumb of this right hand was f j literally torn off when it became 3 fastened in a halter on a horse andthe horse gave a r»sudden lunge. The n i thumb was pulled from the socket and {the tendons and/ muscles severed. It was said that all was required of the attending surgeon was to cut away 3 j the skin holding the thumb and close the wound caused by the amputation With three/ stitches. The accident happened nbout 7:30 o’clock at the transfer Ivarn and the injured man , iwas takeri to the Methodist hospital (for the ^operation. Mr. Morton lives in East Walnut street.I.o
