A tie count resulted at .tialftlme, 8-41, as Dawn Sleffensen picked up Iwo points In the second quarter and Debbie had a bucket and a free throw. The third iperlod favored the Northwood girls, 11-10, and In the final frame Debbie had six points and Kathy three with the regulation playing ffme ending In a knot, 19-19. Debbie Ostermann had 11 points In the win with Kathy totaling nine and Dawn Steffensen had a free throw. Also seeing action In the forward court was Cindy Holtorf. The third quarter saw the two teami play it about even with Northwood picking up eleven to nine for the Blsonettes . . « 38-22. Laabs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philo Laabs of Forest City, were united in marriage Friday, January 7, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake, Rev. W, A. Westman conducted the 8:00 p.m., double ring ceremony.The altar was decorated with candelabra. PatU Westman furnished the nuptial music as organist.The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore a street length, white velvet dress featuring short, puffed sleeves and a stand-up collar with sliver trim. She carried a red, long-stemmed rose.Jerilyn Roth, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a medium blue, double knit dress with empire waist. She carried a long-stemmend white carnation with blue tips.Dale Laabs, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. His boutonniere was a blue tipped white carnation.Following the ceremony the bridegroom’s parents held a luncheon at their home for the immediate families.The bride’s parents held a reception at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8. at the Presbyterian Church In Woden. Mrs. Keith Hal-voraen, sister of the bride, registered about 100 guests, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Roth, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, were host and hostess. Mrs. Wayne Roth, sister-in-law of the bride, presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Bill Schwartz, sister of the bride, poured coffee, while Mrs. Russell Roth and Mrs. Mike Laabs, Bisters-in-law of the bride and bridegroom, cut and served the wedding cake.Jane and Janice Dahle, cousins of the bride, were waitresses. Mrs. Richard Reiken, Mrs. Charles Christianson.
