The Benalla Racing Club annual meeting covers finances, proposed race days, and a proposed permanent secretary role. Officers approved include president Findley and treasurer, with committee votes supporting remuneration for the secretary and other posts. The program details events, handicaps, and a plan to attract larger crowds at the Summer Meeting, with talks of adding capital and race entries.
A clipped report recounts a meeting where members discussed subscription finances and proposed payments totaling £160 with potential voluntary contributions of £20. It notes plans to balance accounts and mentions trustees and committee appointments including Turnbull and Moore. The president received thanks for long service and dining with the club, as members looked ahead to future tasks.
A fragmentary historical note describes a cough remedy claimed to stop coughing for about fifteen minutes. It mentions Chamberlain's Cough Remedy and suggests taking a dose for relief, noting the medicine is flavored and allegedly cures all coughs.
The excerpt promotes Chamberlain's cough remedy and Woods Great Peppermint Cure for coughs and pains, cites a druggist selling them, and mentions testimonials. It also includes unrelated antique verse about soldiers and war.
The fragment references a solicitor named Otlbert Archer linked to Senalua and Tongamab with a Gouue Office address given as Le eee next Colonisl nk. The readable text is fragmented and unclear about roles or actions.
