The Victorian Producers Co operative Company held a special cattle sale at Nagambie on Thursday. About 800 head were yarded and the entire stock, valued well over £7000, sold in under two hours. Quality was high with fat stock and store cattle commanding strong prices.
Melbourne sale notes 2260 cattle yarded from NSW, Victoria and islands with prime weights and mixed demand. Bullocks mostly 19 to 29 guineas, cows 14 to 18 guineas, stores and young stock steady to firm. farm and fat tasks show brisk trade for forward sorts. Sheep and lambs: 360 sheep 90 lambs with price declines in many lines, store demand fair, hoggets and lambs offered at varied rates. pigs and baconers show active trade. horses also active with strong demand for draught and government purposes.
