District camps replace Langwarrin Easter encampment plan
The Defence authorities shifted from large Langwarrin or Lancefield camps to district camps for regiments at Easter. The new setup allows more thorough instruction, officer evaluation, and public visits to see training value. About 210 ranks began at the new camp, with details of squads, staff, and events including drills, lectures, a horse-care class, a monster cod contest, and church parades amid rough weather and a few minor injuries.
