The Belle of Belles Ball was postponed after the Belle of Bellas committee voted to delay the event. A review meeting will be held to set a new date, with medical concerns cited and the committee expressing regret at the decision.
Len Mitchell a Benalla resident at 10 Minchell Cathe Street Nenaila and Ya farmer of Lime died from a heart ailment in the morning. He was found and reported ill at 9 30, collapsed at Renold Chains Lane, and died after returning home. Mitchell was a well known figure in Uma South district, farming for many years.
The report notes a referendum set for Saturday with former Liberals official Cormack involved. He and Mr WD Bos are expected to campaign for votes in support of the Referendum.

The Centenary and Jubilee Committee chaired by Mr T Benheats discussed a children's picnic for October. They considered venue and program changes to fit a late notice, with a final decision planned for the Wednesday meeting.
