Sheep Dog Trials and Show Draw Big Local Attention
Secretary My EF Straughair reported strong turnout at a memorial hall meeting of about twenty members. A Jubilee Centenary committee letter sought use of showgrounds for a November 14 monster picnic for Boroush and Shire children, while Benalla Cricket Association and the Olympic Hunt events were announced. The Benalla Kennel Club Championship Show, run with the A and P Society, drew 180 entries from 120 dogs with diverse breeds including Welsh Corgi and Old English Sheepdog. Judge J M Busst from Melbourne will preside and possibly provide running commentary during the parade.
