A somber tribute recalls the Dowager Queen Mary who guided Britain through two world wars and witnessed the coronation of Elizabeth. The article notes her enduring influence and the planned coronation schedule, with a month of mourning declared.

New Services is the Answer the Town commission agreed to install new water service connections to resolve low pressures. Inspectors reported city mains at Hetne Street area showed inadequate supply with older lines, while newer services improved pressure.
A Benalla team plans to drive a Ford Customline in the Sin Imites stock car rally scheduled for April 16. Officials include Mr Peter Denon of Lime and Mr Don McPherinent along with Mr Ted Tallis, with Team WHE driving Jensen’s car. Rally begins from Benalla. two competitors travel from Wanratta and Hey Well to join.
Veteran trainer Jack Jury, who left the district 25 years ago to build a metropolitan career, was welcomed back at the MiamiDample races. He trained Hefty Loon, Grand National winner two years prior, and received a rousing reception after subsequent victories and warm congratulations from the crowd and the Muiindample Club.
The Benalla Hospital Carnival Committee plans the Top Town competition for 1953 and invites residents to a public meeting on Tuesday night March 21 at 8 pm in the C W A Hall. All vocalists instrumentalists and performers are urged to attend as the event supports the hospital with funds over £200 raised previously.
