Soil Fertility and Clover Ley Farming in District
Agricultural Officer J G Batu notes clover-ley farming has been adopted locally after successful trial at the Station. It uses subterranean clover with a cover crop, alternating long pasture with intensive cropping to enhance fertility and allow two or three cereal crops in succession, with autumn sowing and May planting, varying fallow needs by rainfall and conditions.
