Thoona CWA Sets August Meeting Plans and Competitions
The Thoona branch of the CWA held a small Wednesday meeting with 14 members due to rain. Plans included exhibits for Moira Group Exhibition at Benalla on Sept 10 and a market stall at the conference to defray expenses. Competitions for July featured aprons and crafts, and the August home science van will demonstrate millinery on August 26 with a small entry fee.

An American Tea in John Cooper Hall Wednesday 16th Inat aided Methodist Church Fund. Mrs H Dosser led the committee of the Methodist Ladies Guild with helpers. Despite rain, attendance was strong and stalls offered a fine display of items for sale. Rev E K Ditterich chaired. Miss Mona led as accompanist for a pleasing program. Musicians Mrs Gardiner and Mrs W Gove sang duets. thanks were offered to all who helped. New arrivals noted: Alexander Cleadon Benalla.
