A fire at a residence on Bridge Street was first noticed at 2:10 am by a passerby named Dour Wallace who alerted the police, and the Fire Brigade arrived to confront a fierce blaze that proved difficult to control.
A large working bee is planned with 40 more men needed to dig trenches and prepare the water system for the children’s pool site. Volunteers to register at Apex Club, while extra shifts on Saturday and Sunday aim to finish plumbing and drainage as fire risk from sparks flared near homes.
