Benalla Shire Council Holds December Meeting
The December session of the Benalla Shire Council met with president Cr. Orily presiding. Attendees included Crs Bowdern Wiedemann Atkinson Mellor Johnson Mackregor Marvison Payne Wallace Marin Meadown and Cook. Dr Harrison absent on holidays. A harsh road condition near Glenrowan prompted a planned inspection. Christmas Services at Methodist Church and Union Service
Special Christmas services will be held at the Methodist Church on Gundy Street. Children will lead the morning service and Christmas carols will feature the evening service at 7:80. Rev. WB McCosachy preaches both services and speaks on Tolstoi's The Two Pilgrims. Retiring offerings aid Methodist Homes for Children. A combined Presbyterian and Methodist Christmas service is planned for Christmas Day with Rev. Alister McLean preaching.
