Council Notes on Swimming Pool Safety and Local Matters
The meeting discussed removing a high driving platform at the swimming pool for safety after reports prioritised diver danger. Proposals to relocate the old tip near Gossherl plantation to shield children were debated with opposition from the United Friendly Society. Councillors considered damming the pool, securing water retention, and applying for grants for Ben alin and Goomallbes drainage. The Methodists sought to purchase a church lamp, while the Muslen Society requested free use of Shire Hall for Belle of Barcelona with caretaker fees waived for Red Cross.
