Farewell party for Mrs Audrey Burns in Benalla

Mrs Audrey Burne was farewelled at the Commercial Hotel on Thursday December 4 with a social gathering. Friends presented her with a beautiful smoker's stand and best wishes for happiness in her new home. Attendees included James Crichton, Kath Arnott, Benalla residents, and Edith Brown among others. apologies were sent by several guests.

Removal of Tatong Line Needs Special Act of Parliament

At Monday's council meeting G. F. & Cook MLA reiterated that before the Tatong Line could be torn up a Special Act of Parliament authorising the Railways Commissioners is required. The council agreed to send a deputation to the Minister for Transport regarding extending the Tatong line from Co's siding to Sherwinl's bridge.

Potatoes Deliveries Halted as New Shipments Loom
