Wangaratta Hunt Meeting Delivers Cracking Show of Talent
A large Wangaratta district sports meeting featured hunting horses and ponies, with Beralla’s Kevin McFarlane claiming the Novice Bending Race as high competition from Moyny and other towns produced six Wangaratta crack riders. The event highlighted young Michael O’Keefe, the O’Keefe and Fisher brothers, and the celebrated horse Micky owned by Mrs Hearps, with notable races including the Open Hunt and the final vice Flag Race won by Geo Croxford on Gipsy Tap. The day also showcased strong contributions from the ladies’ committee in catering and organization.
