Imlay Shire Council Meeting at Eden Proceedings Noted
Imlay Shire Council met at Eden on Thursday with all members present. President Dr. Cochrane reported success at the Shires Conference with five revolutions carried and outlined conference business. A unanimously passed vote of thanks praised the president. The council agreed to the Width of Tyre Bill schedule for vehicles up to zero tons. Postmistress of Merimbula sought Saturday afternoon office closure. council advised no objection. Notices regarding a bull nuisance at Pambula and removal were issued. Repairs were ordered for roads including Merimbula Jellat, Loachiel Back Creek, and Periene post office crossings. Bega Chamber of Commerce asked improvements to Tathra wharf approach. engineer to report. An estimated 205 foot low level bridge at Koh Bridge to be built if reimbursed by the Department. Kanoona bridge inspection sought special government assistance. A new light grader, the New Century Machine, was proposed to boost work. General repairs listed for Vathra, Pambula Wolumba, Pambula Wyndy ham, Nethercote, and Pambula Eden roads. Work planned between Tantangalo and the Wolumba-Bomela mountain area. Thanks to D. Hari of Lochiel for gravel. Council to restore Kanoona bridge and Candela to Tantwanggle Road work. Next meeting set for July 3.
