Bishop Pascal to Visit St. Vital on Sunday

His Lordship Bishop Pascal will visit the parish of St. Vital Sunday for Confirmation. A retreat for children and confirmands, a first communions day, and a reception at the school auditorium are planned. Confirmation begins 4 pm with general communion at 8:45 am, weather permitting a car parade from North Battleford.

Battleford district adopts new basis for local church

At the Battleford district meeting held in the north town Methodist church Rev. G Cairns presided with Rev J A Doyle present. Ten missions reported encouraging progress while all district ministers attended. The Battleford church reported 100 senior members and raised 3109 dollars for connectional funds circuit purposes and pastoral support. The church will operate on a debt redemption plan over four years and Bible school will move to 11 am with preaching at 7 pm. Two more appointments between Meota and the north town will be added, and R H Leiteh, secretary, announced an ordained single minister is expected.

Liberal Candidate Spearheads Bridge Openings Across Battle River

Thanks to Mr. B R J Gordon the Liberal candidate in this constituency a temporary bridge across the Battle river south of Waseca is open to traffic and a parallel one south of Maitstone will be usable within days. The structures serve to protect the sites of ice endangered bridges while a full new superstructure is planned for both.

High School Literary Society closes term with Perrichon scenes

On Wednesday the High School Literary Society held its final meeting of the term. The program featured a French presentation of scenes from Le Voyage de M. Perrichon by Misses L T K Duke N Stobson E Quehl, with a piano solo by Miss Robson and a closing address by Principal Perkins.

July 15th Chosen as Fork Convention Date
