Carnival At Sea Held First Skating Carnival

The first skating carnival of the sea was held Friday evening and drew a large crowd. The ice and music created a very enjoyable event with many attractive costumes on display. Winners included Mrs Herlbert Mise J Prince and Miss Bertie Prince among ladies, and H R Skelton C Degar Mr Howard and W Wayman among gentlemen and boys. Three babies born to a Prince Albert couple weighed about three pounds each. one girl survives at two pounds.

Seizure case ends with fine for Talbot and Maze

In King v Talbot the sheriff seized W B Maze wheat on Maze lands. Talbot, who leased the land, broke seals and moved about 19 loads of grain. After a full trial Talbot received a short imprisonment term and a $100 fine.

Captain Cookston Honored For Saskatoon Service In England

London reports Captain Cookston of Saskatoon, a former Imperial army officer who joined Canada’s first contingent, is appointed second in command of a battalion in Kitchener’s new army.
