William Powyer on bail faces an indictment for maliciously setting fire to a stable on January 18 1900 at Hampton belonging to William Dowdell. Trial testimony describes the blaze damaging hay, sacks, and parts of the loft while witnesses recount disputes with Dowdell and alleged threats.
