The New England Weather Service reports generally favorable conditions for planting and crop growth in early May with rapid progress, relief from moisture shortages due to late May rains, and moderate water supplies. Oats show strong prospects at 95 percent, spring wheat and barley above last year, while hay is weak in southern areas.
