Fall from ladder kills Fred Glenn in Allandale
Frederick Glenn a Ball Planing Mill Co. carpenter died after a ladder slipped while repairing a roof at Mrs Collins home Cumberland Street. Eye witness Wallace Carruthers said the extension ladder was not properly coupled. Glenn, 46, left a wife Evereleah Pyette and six children. Funeral held at Union Cemetery with Captain Evert and Rev W T Bunt officiating.

Six Months in Jail for Having a Still in Bradford
Inland Revenue Officer E Floody found a still at Wm Holt Bradford home on Sunday Nov 5. Holt admitted possession but denied manufacturing liquor. Magistrate Clark fined Holt 300 and costs or six months jail, noting Bradford liquor complaints. Holt claimed poverty and a sick wife, produced medical letters, and said the still was used for oat mash. He handed his gold watch to the constable to give to his wife.
