Barrie Collegiate Rugby Attends Queen's Match in Toronto
Principal A R Girdwood and Barrie Collegiate senior players visited Toronto to study the Queen's versus Kingston game. They noted Queen's speed, kicking and catching, and saw end runs including a field length try. Morley Livingston, captain Hurt, and Jim Ross joined the observers. Hurt is sidelined briefly with a shoulder issue but expected to play November 11 if possible. Rosse Robertson, Oakwood Collegiate star and Barrie alumnus, also distinguished himself in rugby this season.

Giant potato weighs 2% pounds in Simcoe County harvest
Herbert Culham of Sunnidale Dor mers grew a monstrous Davies Warrior potato weighing 2% pounds. The tuber, far larger than any local or Ontario specimen, fed a meal for a sizable family. Culham presented the giant to A Hutchin, North Simcoe Agricultural Representative, last week.

Practised Medicine at Angus for 35 Years
Dr. Stephen Wiest died at his home in Angus after a long illness. Born April 26, 1861 in Bond Head, he studied at Bradford and the Toronto School of Medicine, graduating in 1886. He practiced in Ivy before moving to Angus in 1887, where he served as a country physician for 35 years alongside his wife Mary Ann Arnold.

Degrees Boost Heavy Turnout At Barrie Scottish Rite Reunion
Fresh evidence of widespread interest in the Scottish Rite was shown at the Wall Reunion for the Valley of Barrie in the Masonic Temple. Forty candidates for the Lodge of Perfection and thirty for Spry Chapter rose through multiple degrees as convivial crowds gathered from Orillia Newmarket and many towns. Premier Drury spoke on Canada unity while the banquet featured music and entertainment. Over 200 attended the banquet and a Boy Scouts collection raised 44.45 dollars.

Two Hotels Given Out In Assessment
Assessments on four town properties were reduced by the Court of Revision on Friday morning October 27 and three others were confirmed. Two hotel-keepers, W. H. Kennedy of the Wellington and G. S. Webb of the American, saw reductions. Kennedy’s value dropped from 12800 to 11800 and Webb’s from 6600 to 5100. Other changes included Hugh White’s from 1300 to 1200 and H. Hotchkiss’s from 2000 to 1500. No changes on T. J. Elliott Henry Street Mrs. H. Gibson William Street and W. J. Paddison properties.
