Dedication Plans for Memorial Laid
The Soldiers' Memorial Committee set a new start time for the dedication ceremony on June 28 from 2 30 to 1 15. Mayor Little will proclaim a holiday from 1 to 8. Lieut Governor Cockshutt will be greeted at the station with bands and a guard of honor. Several youth and veterans groups will join a wreath parade, while committees handle reception, decorations, program, and parking details for the event.

Elmvale Men in Court Split the Difference
Edgar Edwards of Elmvale sued Norman Pilon for 600 plus interest on a promissory note. The case, moved from jury to judge alone, settled before Judge Wismer with Edwards to receive 250 and costs.

Barrie aquatic enthusiasts form Barrie Aquatic Club in Police Court Chambers to revive water sports. They plan trial spurts in canoes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, establish a membership list, and hold weekly regattas once formed. Officers include Hon. Cookstown Presbyterian Church Celebrates Jubilee
Cookstown Presbyterian Church marked its jubilee with morning and evening services led by Rev. W N Carr from Alton. George Duff, the only surviving member of the first Session, attended the morning service, while Rev. Dr. Whittaker and Rev. W H Bartlett joined the evening. The day featured a message from Rev. R Douglas Fraser, and a letter from the late Rev. Fraser recalling early church efforts in 1868.
