A community event titled Good Time Next Thursday will be held at Hoeing Thea Plaques of the Barbe age Co. on Thursday July 35 at Jacksons Point. The program features breeball lacrosse running races aquatic events and music by a band. Boat leaves Bayfield Street at 9 00 am Ausisdale 9 15 am. Adults 40e children free. An energetic committee leads preparations to make it a lively excursion.

W. T. RK. Preston has declared in favor of woman suffrage. Twenty five retail bread dealers of Toronto have been summoned to answer to the charge of selling abortweight bread.
At the Monday council meeting Ald. Thompson was absent except Watt on leave. A claim of 20 for a horse injury was discussed. A gas engine firm seeks $25,000 loan, tax relief, and school-only taxes for a $10,000 building, while offering 6 to 100 jobs. Other items include sewer odor complaints, crossing requests, and debates over street watering costs and frontage tax funding for cement walks. The meeting set committees to study industrial proposals and street improvements, with decisions postponed on some items.
Friends of the Sisters of St Joseph Barrie are pleased they have formed a local centre at the Convent affiliated with the University of Toronto for the Examinations in Music. Dr Martin of Alma Normal College St Thomas presided at this year's exams. both Sisters and pupils are congratulated on the excellent results published last week.
George Sneath J P clerk of Venpra Township for over fifty four years died Saturday at age 137 years. Born in Nottingham England on Sept. 30 1819 he emigrated to Canada in 1842 and taught in Vespra Sanni dale Nottawasaga Midhurst and Barrie. Survived by several children and relatives the funeral was held Tuesday at Trinity Church Barrie.
Last Thursday July 11 at Willow Hall Crown Hill the marriage of Josephene Partridge to Dr Marshall E Gowland of Milton was performed by Dr Danley on the lawn at two oclock. The bride wore cream silk with lace overdress and carried cream roses. A wedding dinner followed and the couple honeymooned on the upper lakes. Attendants included Dr Lemon Parry Sound Mrs Gea and several Gowland Partridge and Partridge related guests from Milton Toronto Barban Jono and others.
Mount Forest manufacturer L. J. Leslie proposes relocating a 385 staff door plant to Barrie doubling capacity and adding box manufacture if town grants concessions. He aims to form a joint stock company with 100000 capital to run sash production, with street closures, fixed tax of 8000 for 20 years, power shaft access, two railway tracks, three fire hydrants, and free water and light. The Dyment group would fund, offering similar terms. Also notes India plague deaths and government action against slander.
